ATM2 (Active Therapeutic Movement Machine)

The ATM2 provides immediate and long-lasting benefits to many back, neck, shoulder, pelvis, hip, and knee sufferers. By definition ATMs consist of a few active neuromuscular movements superimposed upon a specific passive holding. ATMs aim to immediately alter symptoms, by affecting the Central Nervous System (CNS) control. The ATM2 is a clinical tool designed to enable effective user operated ATMs.  In easier terms it's a treatment using a machine that stabilizes the injury and thus allows muscle to release and pain to subside.

LCT-1000 (Class 4 Laser Therapy)

Drug free, pain relief is the goal for most of us. Now we can offer you a non-surgical option that truly has the power to eliminate or significantly reduce your pain. Five to ten brief treatments with this powerful laser is all it takes to realize life changing results. The LCT-1000 works by flooding the tissues with photons, energizing the damaged cells and increasing circulation to the painful area. This produces a cascade of healing responses in your body, reducing inflammation, thereby reducing or even eliminating your pain. Treatments take just a few minutes, however the therapeutic effect continues to soothe and heal long after you leave the office.

There is no discomfort during treatment, simply a deep, gentle warmth as your body’s cells respond to the light. There are no known side effects, it is a non-invasive therapy with long lasting results. Deep Tissue Laser Therapy can dramatically reduce the pain associated with the following:

  • Low Back Strain
  • Bulging, Fused or Slipped Discs
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)
  • Temporomandibular Joint Disorder
  • Arthritic Conditions
  • Post Surgical Recovery
  • Headaches, including Migraine
  • Sports Injuries (Pulled Hamstrings, Calves Etc.)
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • And many more joint, muscle, circulatory and inflammatory conditions

Newton (Pneumatic Unweighting System)

Turning Point Physical Therapy has one of the few Unweighting Systems in Oregon. The Newton, Pneumatic unit reduces the amount of weight-bearing through the patient's lower extremities, which greatly assists in the rehabilitation of painful joints and injuries. The patient is placed in a comfortable harness that prevents them from falling during all facets of their gait and balance program. Unlike aquatic therapy, the unweighting system allows adjustable degrees of weight bearing. During treatment, the client can be walking or running on a treadmill, or be involved in balance activities.

Unweighting is very effective in treating acute/chronic back pain, gait, balance, and coordination disorders, and transitions the patient into a cardiovascular exercise program without the risk of falling. The Newton unit is also used in our sports training programs, which gives athletes the performance edge they are seeking.  Furthermore, the Newton is used as traction for the Lumbar Spine.
